I have been unable to find any information regarding the illustrator Ruth Mary Hallock therefore, I will share what little I have found for now and will update this page later if more information comes to light. My First Story Book 1934 1875–1961), U.S. author.Carolyn Sherwin Bailey wrote more than 60 children's books during her career. In 1947 she was honored with the prestigious Newbery Medal for ‘Miss Hickory'(1946). Bailey was born on Oct. 25, 1875, in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. She was educated at home until the age of 12 and then attended Lansingburgh Academy, near Albany. In 1896 she graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University. This is part of the Little Readers Series Published in 1934 by McLoughlin Bro's Inc. Illustrated by Ruth M. Hallock .:
